House Farm
Self
catering
family farm holidays in Suffolk UK
Baylham
House Rare Breeds Farm offers family farm holidays in Great
Britain. Located in East
Anglia
in the county of Suffolk, our self catering accomodation is
self contained within part of our old farmhouse and we are perfectly
situated
for you to enjoy the fabulous surrounding countryside as well as the
nearby
coast. Suffolk is a beautiful county with some lovely old
towns
and an abundant choice of good pubs and restaurants within easy reach
of
the farm.
The Suffolk coast will give you an enormous choice from commercial
docks to unspoilt seaside towns and villages; from pebbles or shingle
to sand; from whelks or fish and chips to lobster
thermidor; lazing on the beach to sailing, fishing or
speedboating.
The East Anglian countryside can offer you forests, farmland or gently
rolling hills; castles or country houses; tourist attractions for both
the very young and the not so young; peace and quiet or night clubs;
cycling or horse riding. Whatever the tastes or ages of your
family, Baylham House Farm will be the comfortable location from which
you can indulge yourselves.
Our
self-catering holiday unit, the Annexe, will
sleep four adults and a cot. It is laid out with a double bedroom, a
twin
bedroom, a sitting room, a bathroom and a separate toilet all upstairs.
The twin beds are 2ft 6ins wide and may not suit a larger adult.
Downstairs
there is an entrance hall, storage and a kitchen with a dining area.
Central
heating and hot water are oil fired and cooking is by electricity.
Towels, linen, heating oil and electricity are all provided within the
rental cost. A
baby's cot is
available at a small extra charge and a high chair free of charge can
be provided.
The accommodation is fitted out with all you will need for a
self-catering holiday.
There is a micorwave, an electric cooker, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a washing
machine / drier, colour TV and VCR. The kitchen contains a comprehensive range of
equipment so, if
cordon bleu cooking is your thing , you will still be able to produce your favourite family
meals.
Apart
from our Labrador, cats and innumerable white doves, you will find
that we keep rare breeds of cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry. If
you want to join in with feeding, lambing, calving, foot trimming,
shearing,
tupping, farrowing, dagging and other countryside pastimes, you will be
most welcome. If, on the other hand, you want to be left alone to do
your
own thing then please do so. Regrettably, due to the presence of our
own
dog and the farm animals, we are unable to allow pets to come with you
on holiday.
We have a good
selection of birds
in the local area and also we are
located in the centre of the public
footpath
network in and around the Gipping Valley so, if you are keen on walking
and bird watching, bring your boots and binoculars. We can offer you
coarse
fishing on the river Gipping which is well known as a good chubb river.
One fisherman who stayed here spotted an enormous carp in the pool at
the
end of our garden and subsequently ruined his wife's holiday by
spending
all his time trying to catch the monster. They are now speaking to each
other again and have become frequent visitors to Baylham.
The nearest shops
are in Needham
Market two miles away and there are two supermarkets each within a ten
minute drive.
Baylham House
Annexe provides
you with an excellent setting to relax and unwind in a rural
environment.
If you want to be more energetic, we are well placed for you to find
what
you need in the local area. If you want further information, send us an
e-mail. We will be happy to answer your questions.
