Pigs are not clever like your head teacher is clever but  they are very intelligent and sensible.
 

They certainly are not stupid.
 

They can be taught to obey simple commands like a dog but,  unlike a dog,  they are not at all interested in pleasing their owners.  A pig will merely do what it wants to do and only when it wants to do it.

They can be frightened if you startle or surprise them and they will then rush round barking a warning to all their companions.   Without the element of surprise, nothing seems to worry or amaze them.

If an elephant walked past a pig I am sure it would merely look up, pause, think "boring, boring"  to itself and then carry on with what it was doing.
